In this project, we’ll create a miniature table for a dollhouse in 1:12 scale using 3mm thick cedar wood. Cedar is ideal for miniatures as it’s lightweight, easy to cut, and has a beautiful finish. A table saw was used to achieve clean and precise cuts.
Materials:
- 3mm thick cedar wood
- Table saw
- Wood glue
- Sandpaper
- Step-by-step video tutorial included
Measurements (in mm and inches):
Table legs (4 pieces):
35 mm × 6 mm = (1.38 × 0.24 in)
Side connectors (2 pieces):
39 mm × 19 mm = (1.54 × 0.75 in)
Front and back connectors (2 pieces):
75 mm × 45 mm = (2.95 × 1.77 in)
Back panel (1 piece):
75 mm × 12 mm = (2.95 × 0.47 in)
Drawer parts:
- Bottom: 35 mm × 35 mm = (1.38 × 1.38 in)
- Two small sides: 35 mm × 11 mm = (1.38 × 0.43 in)
- Two long sides: 41 mm × 11 mm = (1.61 × 0.43 in)
Tabletop (final top piece):
91 mm × 47 mm = (3.58 × 1.85 in)
Assembly Steps:
Once all the pieces are accurately cut, start by gluing the legs, then add the side and front/back connectors. After building the outer frame, assemble the drawer separately. Finally, glue the tabletop on top to complete the piece.
To make the process easier, be sure to watch the instructional video, which walks you through each step. Even beginners will find it easy to follow and replicate.
