Imagine adding a warm and cozy touch to your dollhouse with a miniature wood stove! 🔥
This piece is one of the most charming details you can make, giving your miniature scene a lifelike and inviting atmosphere. With a few careful steps and attention to detail, you can craft a stunning 1:12 scale wood stove that looks just like the real thing.
Building Steps
- Sanding is essential: Before assembling or painting, make sure to sand the wood properly to achieve a smooth and professional finish.
- Colors: I used black and brown paint to create a realistic stove look.
- Materials: I worked with plywood and cedar wood, both with a thickness of 3 mm.
Measurements (in mm & inches)
The main box is the foundation—if you get it right, you’ve already completed 50% of the work:
- Side pieces: 65×35 mm (≈ 2.55×1.37 in) ×2
- Back piece: 65×40 mm (≈ 2.55×1.57 in) ×1
- Top & bottom pieces: 53×38 mm (≈ 2.08×1.49 in) ×2
Now for the door:
- Door: 39×35 mm (≈ 1.53×1.37 in) ×1
- Small piece above the door for attaching the hinge: 40×6 mm (≈ 1.57×0.23 in) ×1
- Bottom hinge piece: 40×32 mm (≈ 1.57×1.25 in) ×1
Finally, the smoke pipe: I made it using paper with an easy method—explained clearly in the video.
